MOSCOW – There is a phrase said by president Vladimir Putin during his long meeting with the mayors of the Federation broadcast on Russian TV last night which did not escape the think tank Institute of Study of War. Tracing “the tragedy we are experiencing today” to the doors opened in 2008 by NATO to Ukraine and Georgia and to the 2014 uprising in Kiev which he calls a “coup d’état”, the Kremlin leader said: “I am followed a whole series of other decisions that canceled and actually led to what is happening now in Latvia and other Baltic Republics: when the Russians are simply kicked out.
