Putin-Lukashenko meeting: towards the economic integration of Russia and Belarus

The integration, at least economic, between Russia and Belarus seems ever closer. On the eve of the Zapad joint military exercises (West), Vladimir Putin e Aleksandr Lukashenko announced the signing of a package of “28 programs” to strengthen the Russia-Belarus Union, a political-economic alliance dating back to 1999 when the Kremlin leader was still Boris Eltsin, but remained unfulfilled for a long time.
