In the era of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria, operators in the transport and logistics sector are faced with a challenge of conscience: not only to improve the corporate image through greater environmental responsibility, but to act concretely to ensure a positive impact on the environment.

With the aim of transparently communicating efforts and progress towards the realization of the objectives of the sustainability strategy, while simultaneously promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Raben Group, together with its Business Units – including Raben Italy – released the 2023 Sustainability Report: a document that, spanning all corporate entities and operations, highlights Raben’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its sustainability efforts.

With almost 12,000 employees, a fleet of over 10,000 vehicles and around 160 depots spread across 15 European countries, Raben Group has a considerable impact on numerous stakeholder groups.

In 2023, Raben Group continued its commitment to reduce emissions, in line with the objectives of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). To achieve this goal, the company has focused on reducing the emissions intensity of transportation and real estate.

In particular, Raben Group has started testing biofuel (HVO100) in its fleet and has continued to invest in improving its vehicle fleet, developing electromobility and warehouses, in order to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions . The Group has also maintained a high share of green energy in the electricity consumption mix, with a consequent reduction of almost 23% in Scope 1 and 2 emissions compared to 2020 (reference year).

Raben Group’s commitment to sustainability has led to significant results, including a sharp increase in the Ecovadis rating to 65 points in 2024.
