Rafael Nadal declared this Saturday, after losing to the Polish Hubert Hurkacz in Rome, that he is not clear about his decision to go to Roland Garros due to the level on the court, although if he had to say something he would say that is closer to attending the French event than staying at home.
“The decision is not clear in my mind today. But if I had to say something I would say that I am closer to going and giving it my all. Physically I have problems, but not enough to not go.for now, to the most important tournament of my career,” he said in a press conference.
“If I feel good, I will be there to fight for what I have fought for these 20 years,” he added. “There are two paths, thinking that I am not prepared for what I have done today on the track, which is understandable and acceptable. And the other is that There are two weeks left and we can change it. Although it is a difficult moment, it is a frustrating day, I feel closer to trying, although right now I am overwhelmed.”
“I’m going to see what plan I’m going to carry out to be different from what I was today and I’m going to try. Today it seems impossible to think about going to Roland Garros to compete for something, but physically I haven’t been that bad.
