Social conditions: The Real Madrid profile has been the target of racist episodes repeatedly. This week he was too, despite his team not being in action once.
According to Real Madrid, before the Champions League matches Barcelona-Napoli and Atletico Madrid-Inter, racist songs were sung about Vinicius.
Real Madrid mentions the episodes on their website. A number of Spanish media have also done so. Now the club is taking action.
“Real Madrid has submitted a complaint to the public prosecutor for hate and discrimination following the racist and hateful insults that were directed at Vinicius Junior in connection with the home pitches of Barcelona and Atlético Madrid before matches in the Champions League,” writes Real.
The club has asked the police to use video footage from both arenas to identify the people behind the racism.
“Real Madrid condemns the racism, discrimination and hatred that has been directed at Vinicius Junior on several occasions,” writes the Spanish club.
Vinicius Junior himself has been out on social media and asked the police to take action after the episodes this week.
