Diaz replaced an ankle-injured Jude Bellingham in the starting eleven, and he grabbed that chance with both hands and a golden left foot. During the match, Bellingham took to the internet to give his opinion on the pearl goal.
“My God, Brahim,” wrote Bellingham on X and added a series of blushing emojis.
With ten minutes remaining, Diaz had to be replaced with what appeared to be a calf injury.
With the victory, Real Madrid have a solid starting point before the return match at home. It will be played on March 6.
