Registration for Fies 2024 begins this Tuesday (12) — Ministry of Education

Those interested in participating in the Student Financing Fund (Fies) selection process, for the first semester of 2024, must register from this Tuesday, March 12th, at Single Portal for Access to Higher Education. Registration is free and can be completed until March 15th.

In 2024, the Ministry of Education (MEC) will make 112,168 places available for higher education financing, with 67,301 places for the selection process in the first semester of this year. This edition of the program will have, at least, 50% of these places reserved for Fies Social, which aims to serve people with a family income of up to half a minimum wage registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico). This group will also be able to finance up to 100% of the educational fees charged by the higher education institution.

Candidates for Fies Social will be automatically identified by the Fies Seleção system, based on the CadÚnico database provided to the MEC by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Combating Hunger (MDS). This database corresponds to the Registration status on the reference date of February 10, 2024.

Obtaining a minimum grade average in Enem and complying with the income limit are just criteria for enrolling in the Fies selection process. The contracting of financing depends on the completion of other procedures set out in the notice, which are necessarily conditioned on the classification and pre-selection of the candidate.

Enrollment– To register, the participant must be registered with the Federal Government’s Single Login and create an account on gov.br. If you already have one, the interested party simply logs in with the Individual Taxpayer Registration Number (CPF) and password.

When registering, the candidate must provide their CPF; valid personal email address; the names of the members of the family group, with the CPF number of members aged 14 years or over, their respective dates of birth and, if applicable, the gross monthly income of each member of the family group.

It is also necessary to inform the three options of course, shift and location offered by the higher education institution among those available for registration, in the same preference group or in different groups, indicating the order of priority among your options.

During the registration period, the candidate will be able to change their course options, as well as cancel their registration, but be sure of the options chosen until the end of the registration period. Classification in the Fies selection process will be based on the last change made and confirmed in the system.

Fies Social– From 2024, with Fies Social, the Ministry of Education aims to resume the social role of student financing, as it is intended to meet the needs of low-income students.
