Richard Tyler Blevins, Ninja | The internet phenomenon shares a shocking message: – I’m still in shock

– Okay. I’m still in shock but want to keep you all updated.

This is how Tyler Blevins (32), best known under his online alias Ninja, begins a heartbreaking post on X.

Blevins became a world star almost overnight when, a few years ago, he established himself as one of the world‘s best in the video game Fortnite on the streaming platform Twitch. Today, he has several million followers, as well as several billion views on YouTube.

But despite massive success and great popularity, he now finds that life can be quite fragile.

The 32-year-old says that a few weeks ago he went to a dermatologist for a routine check-up. Under his foot they discovered a mole which they wanted to remove just to be safe.

– It came back as melanoma, writes Blevins.

Melanoma, often called mole cancer, is the most serious type of skin cancer, according to the Norwegian Cancer Society.

According to the Norwegian Cancer Registry, men are most susceptible to skin cancer. A total of 3,061 new cases of skin cancer were registered in 2022, 1,686 men and 1,375 women.

He says they are optimistic and hopes they discovered it at an early stage. They also found another dark spot near the same area, on which they have now carried out one.

– I am grateful that there is hope that we found this out early, but let this be a reminder to get the skin checked, concludes Blevins.
