Russia fined Google for “not removing illegal content”

MOSCOW – The court of fly fined Google for a record 7.2 billion rubles (87 million euros at today’s rate) for failing to remove “illegal” content, at a time when sanctions are mounting in Russia against digital giants. In a statement on its Telegram account, the Moscow court press service accused Google of “repeat offending” for failing to remove content deemed illegal in the country from its platforms.
