Russia, US towards sanctions in response to hacker attacks against federal agencies and electoral interference

by admin

The Biden administration will announce sanctions in response to the campaign of hacking attacks against US federal agencies and election interference. This was announced by an official. It will be the first response measures to last year’s attack on nine federal agencies, dubbed “SolarWinds”.

The formal announcement is expected today, according to the source. It is not clear whether further decisions are foreseen. Furthermore, it would be the second sanction block imposed by the Biden administration in Moscow: seven middle and high-level officials have already been sanctioned, along with a dozen government entities, in relation to the poisoning of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny and on his next incarceration.
