The popular actress most recently starred alongside Simone Thomalla, 58, who plays the role of village helper Katja Baumann in the series.

Ruth Wohlschlegel was able to look back on a remarkable career. She was born in 1955 and studied at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater from 1973 to 1975 and was a student at the Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles from 1979 to 1981.

She made her acting debut in the film “The Man on the Wall” in 1982. But theater was also her great love. The Schauspielhaus Bochum, the Freie Volksbühne Berlin and the Wuppertal theaters were her second artistic home. In 1990 she founded her own acting studio and taught young talent there

Recurring roles on TV

She gained a foothold on TV in 1993 with the series “Morlock”. Further appearances on the screen followed, such as in “Tatort”, “Die Wache” and “Wolffs Revier”. She had permanent engagements for a certain period of time in the TV hits “Bei aller Liebe” and “Die Fallers”. In 2013 she became part of the “Spring” ensemble, where she repeatedly appeared as the friend of baker Heidrun Niedermayer, played by Catalina Navarro Kirner, 44.

Another co-star from the series says goodbye with touching words: “Just incredibly sad,” writes Lilli Marie Schweiger, 15, actress of Lotti Zerbe. “I have so many wonderful memories with Ruth, from day 1 she was a part of Spring for me, a kind-hearted person with a lot of love. She loved the children on set very much and had such a big heart for animals.”

And further: “If you looked for Ruth, she was stroking a dog somewhere and playing with it. We laughed a lot together and had fun, met privately in the evening in Bayrischzell after filming and sat in the beer garden. She always believed in me and gave me a lot of tips. A lot of credit for my role Lotti goes to her. When I was nervous, she always talked me through it and said, you can do it with your left hand, you don’t actually need a coach anymore. Thank you very much for everything and I’m incredibly sad RIP dear Ruth, we will never forget you and will carry our many memories in our hearts.”
