Dark glasses and Nineties style is the unmistakable look of Gazzelle, the stage name of the singer Flavio Bruno Pardini. On the Ariston stage, he will sing the song That’s all, a song launched by Maciste Dischi and Warner Music Italy. To the biography
Born and raised in Rome, in the Prati area, he started playing at an amateur level at the age of 22 using his real name. In a short time, Flavio manages to play in some Roman clubs but always shrouded in a veil of mystery. The real boom, however, will come later. The stage name Gazzelle comes from a mispronunciation of the adidas ‘gazelle’ shoe model.
His first single was released in 2016, That youa prelude to his first album Superbeat, with the Maciste Dischi label. The song will have an unexpected success, especially for a character who for a long time has chosen to be shrouded in a veil of mystery by not showing his face, but only blurry photos. In one of the first interviews, the singer defines his style as “sexypop”.

In 2018 he released his second album, Punk, with songs Sparks e Above. Post Punk it was published some time later with four other unpublished works: Polynesia, September, A song I don’t know e Vita paranoia. His name is also among the artists who, through the pages of Rolling Stone, supported the article criticizing the immigration policies of the then Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini. Starting from the Monk Club at the Ex Dogana, from the Atlantic Live to the Palazzo dello Sport, the Auditorium Parco della Musica and the Capannelle Hippodrome, 2023 is the year in which Gazzelle managed to fulfill the dream of every Roman singer : singing at the Olympic Stadium. “Thank you, I think this is the best day of my life,” he told his fans gathered at the stadium without being able to hold back his tears.

Indie in Sanremo
Gazzelle is one of the greatest exponents of indie in Italy. The name of the genus comes from the term Independent, used in the United States to indicate that group of artists who refused to respect the logic of the market. By decision or by necessity, the singers did not have an artistic director to whom they had to submit. The rather vague and generic definition includes artists of various kinds and coming from very different musical genres.
Indie in Italy was born around the early 2000s with artists such as Tre allegri Ragazzi Morti and Baustelle. Just in 2000, Subsonica participated in the Sanremo festival (they wanted to return this year but were excluded). Even though they only reached number eleven, the song All my mistakes brought change to the Ariston stage. But there was no shortage of debate over whether or not artists from the indie genre should participate in the festival.
