Sao Paulo and Palmeiras tied 0-0 this Monday in the match that concluded the fourth day of the Brasileirao, a result that frustrates both teams by keeping them away from the first positions.
In the derby between the two current national champions (Sao Paulo of the Brazilian Cup and Palmeiras of the Brazilian league), football was conspicuous by its absence at the Morumbis stadium in Sao Paulo, in a match with many fouls, little continuity and few opportunities.
It was the third tie this season between Sao Paulo and Palmeiras, who also tied 0 at 0 in the Brazilian Super Cup (with a Sao Paulo victory on penalties) and in the Paulista Championship (1-1).
The result frustrated the aspirations of both teams to get closer to leader Botafogo.
Palmeiras is 12th with five points in four games, four away from the lead, while Sao Paulo is 14th, with four points, one more than relegation.
