A sea of folks welcomed the presence of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at Laino Raha Market, Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi on Monday (13/05/2024). The public’s excessive enthusiasm is partly as a result of President Jokowi is the second president to go to Muna after the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur.
Accompanied by a variety of his ministers, President Jokowi walked by the ocean of folks, greeting merchants and individuals who had crowded the market since morning. “Mr Jokowi! Mr Jokowi!” shouted the folks.
The President was seen interacting with merchants, asking costs and offering working capital help to them. Saidah, one of many merchants, admitted that he was grateful to have the ability to meet the Head of State in particular person.
“Alhamdulillah (bought assist), thanks. “We are grateful, now we have seen it on TV all this time, now it’s actuality,” he stated.
“Thank you, I hope he can be a blessing, he’ll enhance his fortune, he can be wholesome,” continued the mom who has been buying and selling on the Laino Raha Market for 20 years.
President Jokowi’s steps stopped at a banana vendor’s stall. Apparently, President Jokowi needed to style the milk bananas bought on the stall. The President squatted down and tasted some bananas.
Suhia, the banana dealer, stated that the value of the bananas she sells is IDR 5 thousand per comb. President Jokowi purchased two combs, however gave him IDR 150 thousand.
“Buy two banana combs for 10 thousand, the opposite for 5 thousand. Mr Jokowi gave 150 thousand. “Very completely happy,” stated Suhia.
President Jokowi’s go to to Laino Raha Market exhibits the President’s dedication to supporting the native economic system and enhancing the welfare of small merchants.
