The Cavalera brothers, Max e Iggor, seem like they really embraced the mission of “reforming” the band’s original albums. Grave, firstly, re-recording great versions of “Morbid Visions” and “Bestial Devastation”. Now it’s time for “Schizophrenia”, Sepultura’s second full length, originally released in 1987. This way, the reform of the initial trilogy, which was significant for the growth of national Metal, will be complete. “Schizophrenia” is an iconic album, at the same time, for Thrash and Death Metal, having the signature of a family that dedicated its musical existence to extreme Metal.

In order to give fans a preview of the final result, Cavalera released the live music video for the single “Escape To The Void”.

According to the Mundo Metal website, in 2023, “Morbid Visions” and “Bestial Devastation” received a good quality re-recording, but without losing the vigor of the beginnings. It was a risky move, as it could go wrong, however the Cavalera brothers took the risk and did well, bringing their raw sound to the present times. In the same way, “Schizophrenia” begins to be reborn, receiving a well-deserved upgrade. In order to give fans a preview of the final result, Cavalera released the live music video for the single “Escape To The Void”.

Max Cavalera commented this way:

“The Third World trilogy is finally complete with ‘Schizophrenia’, ‘Bestial Devastation’ and ‘Morbid Visions’, all three gems of the Brazilian underground! For me, ‘Schizophrenia’ is the definitive death/thrash experiment! I was inspired to conquer the world and this recording shows that my commitment is relentless! This one is for all generations to enjoy!”

Igor completed:

“1987 was a very progressive year for metal, with releases like CELTIC FROST ‘Into The Pandemonium’, VOIVOD ‘Killing Technology‘ and BATHORY ‘Under The Sign Of The Black Mark’, so it was no surprise how we approached ‘Schizophrenia ‘ pushing our limits from a black/death metal sound to a more thrash metal aesthetic. We still had some ideas for ‘Morbid Visions’ and some new songs. I’m very proud of the composition and even more proud of our version. -recordings.”
