Serie D football, Battaglino “warns” Sangiuliano

In view of the trip to Certaldo, the longest of the season for Sangiuliano, the yellow-greens are trying to continue their march towards the play-off zone. The week of forced break in the Serie D championship, due to the commitment of the National Representative, interrupted a streak of eight consecutive matches with five wins and three draws which revived Andrea Ciceri’s team, now awaiting confirmation on the pitch bottom of Group D. Getting the three points in Tuscany, in the home town of the national coach, Luciano Spalletti, would mean further narrowing the margin from the play-off zone, currently eight points away. Some crossroads in the program of the 23rd matchday could in fact come into play for Sangiuliano, provided that he returns with the full spoils from the long trip. The matches between Victor San Marino and Corticella and the one between Forlì and Imolese, but also Ravenna-Lentigione are all matches that take points away from the yellow-green’s direct rivals to get closer to fifth place.
