A well-grown man is believed to be the perpetrator. According to NRK’s information, it is the man’s two daughters and a grandson who have been killed.
– We believe that the alleged perpetrator is among the four dead, a well-grown man. We think he has taken his own life, says police inspector Grete Metlid of the Oslo police.

She said that it was a caller who contacted the police.
– At the address they found several dead people. There were also other emergency services on the scene, and they understand fairly quickly that they are facing a very serious incident.
Start a homicide investigation
Metlid says they have started a murder investigation.
She adds that it is far too early to say anything about background and motive.
The emergency services will continue the investigation into the evening on Tuesday, and will, among other things, carry out interviews and technical and tactical investigations.

On Tuesday morning, all the emergency services went out to a smoke-filled house in Skogbygda in Nes municipality in Akershus.
There they picked up four people. All are declared dead.

The police have started a homicide investigation based on the injuries and other information.
All four deceased were residents of Nes municipality.

– This is a tragic event that touches us all. This is a difficult day for us in the Aust police district, who have lost a colleague, says Lilaas-Skari.
The investigation is therefore being transferred to the Oslo police district.
– We have notified the next of kin. Our focus now is to look after our own crew, says Lilaas-Skari.
– Today has been a demanding day. It is extra demanding that one of our colleagues is among the dead, says the police chief.

Set up a crisis team and open the church
– We have mobilized our psychosocial crisis team in connection with the case.
This is according to municipal director Jon Sverre Bråthen in Nes municipality.
– The municipality is making the necessary preparations with the staff and auxiliary staff we have, so that we are prepared as well as possible, says deputy mayor Harald Johansen.

– You don’t say anything, you have big ears and you hear, states the priest.
When asked what people need on a day like this, the priest replies:
– It varies a lot, but a serious incident in such a small village left its mark. Not everyone has so many words, but it is possible to sit completely still in the church pew, and it is possible to light a candle, it is possible to hold each other around, and it is possible to talk to each other.
