Shell Lubricants confirms its position as global leader in the lubricants market for the 17th consecutive year. This is what emerges from the 21st edition of the “Global Lubricants: Market Analysis and Assessment” report by Kline & Company.

The analysis takes into account all the main markets of lubricant-consuming countries, market segments, product types and formulations. Shell ranks first in all three lubricant categories analyzed by Kline & Company: consumer automotive, commercial automotive and industrial.

Shell maintained its leading position with a global market share of 11.6 percent, Kline reported. Similar to the previous year, sales can be attributed almost equally to 3 sectors: automotive (35%), industry (33%) and commercial vehicles (32%).

Shell has confirmed its global leadership and competitive advantage through continued investment in premium and differentiated products, including Shell Helix lubricants for passenger cars, Shell Advance for motorcycles, Shell Rimula for trucks and heavy-duty vehicles, and Shell Tellus and Shell industrial oils. Shell Gadus.

Shell was also among the first companies to launch a portfolio of specialized lubricants for hybrid vehicles and E-fluids in 2019, which help electric vehicles perform more efficiently. Furthermore, the range of applications of these solutions goes far beyond electric vehicles. As part of an integrated offering for data centers, Shell has introduced a range of immersion cooling fluids designed to push the limits of performance, efficiency and sustainability.

The Lubricants division plays a critical role in supporting Shell’s goal of becoming a net-zero emissions energy company by 2050 and helping customers reduce their carbon footprint. Shell Lubricants is reducing waste through the development of sustainable packaging and circular solutions, as well as offering more sustainable options through its range of biodegradable products.

In Italy, Shell Italia Oil Products boasts a lubricants production and marketing plant in Cisliano, near Milan, among the largest plants in Europe and over 35 product brands available on the Italian market; a wide range of high-performance lubricants, with high technological content and low CO2 impact developed for the automotive, industrial, marine and aviation sectors.
