In October 1991, the commercial scimitar Andrea Gail returned to port in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Boat owner Bob Brown mocks Captain Billy Tyne for his poor catch.

Desperate, Billy convinces crew member Andrea Gail to join him on a fishing expedition. The crew passes the fishing grounds. They didn’t realize a tropical storm was waiting.
After collecting thousands of fish, they rushed back to shore. However, there was a confluence of two strong weather fronts. Unfortunately, this big storm was underestimated by the crew.
As Andrea Gail’s crew battled raging seas, strong winds broke the ship’s radio antenna. He experienced various problems such as high waves hitting the deck, a damaged stabilizer hitting the side of the ship with a loose anchor, and two crew members being thrown overboard.
The ship must struggle to navigate through pounding waves, while friends and family worry and wait for news. Can they?
