Silvestre Dangond revealed that he sold empanadas before becoming a famous singer – People – Culture

Silvestre Dangond has been in the news recently thanks to the concert he will give this year in the capital of Colombia, something that has him excited or so he has demonstrated on social networks and in an interview he had on the program ‘Día a Día’.

The native of Urumita, La Guajira, was on the morning show of ‘Caracol Televisión’ on February 13, to talk about his concerts, music and other details about his personal life.

The interpreter of ‘Las locas mias’ referred to the season in which he was away from the stage and social networks: “Since I left the networks I feel very calm, I feel like I wasted a lot of time. Now I write more songs and dedicate more time to other things.”

In the same way, he confessed that he recorded a song with Carlos Vives, however, he did not give details such as the name of the single or when it will be released.

Another fact that caught our attention in the interview is that Silvestre Dangond said that before being a famous singer, he worked selling empanadas at a bus station.

“I sold empanadas at the Valledupar transport terminal, my parents had left me in that city because they separated, so I was tending a ‘chuzo’ and there I sold stuffed potatoes, empanadas, and other things,” said the Colombian.

Dangond added that, upon being there, he realized certain negative things related to those who work in that place: “That place was dangerous and the truth is I connected with a difficult and dark world, I also realized things about drinking, which I didn’t I liked them, that was very strong for me.”

But not everything was bad for Silvestre, there he met a person who offered him moments of joy: “What I liked was that there was a person called ‘chino cassette’ who sold cassettes with live music from various vallenato artists.”

“I went there and told him, play me Jorge Oñate’s song. And he told me: ‘But, buy me, you always come here so I can play your songs for free, no, buy me,’” she added.

The singer assured that, today, when he passes by that place and recognizes someone he interacted with when he was selling empanadas, he stops to greet them and start a conversation.
