Robert Fico was critically wounded when he was shot after a authorities assembly within the mining city of Handlova on Wednesday afternoon. In the night, Kalinak stated that docs had been preventing for the prime minister’s life.
Later on Wednesday night, Deputy Prime Minister Tomas Taraba informed the BBC that he believed Fico would survive and that his situation was not life-threatening.
According to the federal government, the assault was politically motivated, and a 71-year-old man has been arrested in reference to the assassination.
