Canadian actor Chris Gauthier died at the age of 48, informed his manager, Chad Colvin, on the social networks. The cause of death was not disclosed.
“This doesn’t seem real. How can you? The world without you in it seems so much darker. When your wife told me the news yesterday, I burst into tears in disbelief for hours. It took me until now to recover mentally and emotionally to write this,” she began.
“Chris was the literal definition of a character actor. You might not know his name, but you knew his face, you knew his voice, and you knew that if he was on screen, you were in for a great ride,” he continued.
“Whether he was face to face with Clark Kent on ‘Smallville’ as the Toyman, tormenting Dean on ‘Supernatural’, on deck with Hook as Smee on ‘Once Upon A Time’ or in guest roles in the countless other productions he was in, he ALWAYS gave his all when the camera was rolling,” he said.
In addition to the roles highlighted by Colvin, Gauthier also participated in episodes of “Harper’s Island – The Mystery of the Island”, “Sanctuary”, “Lemony Snicket: A Series of Unfortunate Events” and more.
Colin O’Donoghuewith whom the actor starred in “Once Upon a Time”lamented the death of his colleague on social media.
“Rest in peace, Chris. Broken heart. My love and thoughts to Erin and the boys. You will be missed, brother. You were the real captain,” he wrote.
