The transfer of young Italian star Simone Pafundi from Udinese to the Super League is perfect.
FC Lausanne-Sport officially confirmed the 17-year-old offensive player’s move on Thursday. The Romands are loaning the left-footer, who already played for the Squadra Azzurra in November 2022, until the end of the season and are also securing a purchase option worth 15 (!) million euros.
The deal is made possible by the INEOS owners of the French-speaking Swiss company, who recently also joined Manchester United.
After Pafundi’s development at Udinese stalled a bit recently, he should now prove his skills in the Super League and be successful here. He immediately becomes the most valuable player in the league in terms of market value.
When introducing the new addition, Lausanne-Sport plays, among other things, quotes from the former Italian national coach Roberto Mancini:
⏳ You were waiting for it, it has arrived.
