For Babler, it is clear that the ÖVP, which is currently far behind in third place in all major surveys and therefore behind the FPÖ and SPÖ, wants to become the “small coalition partner” at all costs.
“I warn against a blue-black government,” said the red party leader. “The Social Democrats are the only force in Austria that can prevent Chancellor Kickl.” He, Babler, stands for a reform chancellorship that enables “better politics for 98 percent of the people.” Be it the compatibility of family and work, combating child poverty or a better health system.

When asked about the KPÖ and a possible candidacy of the Beer Party, Babler showed little concern. He welcomes political diversity, which is what makes a democracy. However, Babler is not afraid that the KPÖ and the SPÖ Beer Party could cost votes.
