Sporadic firefights between Israel and Palestinian jihad before and after ceasefire agreement takes effect
On the 13th local time, under the mediation of Egypt, Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Jihad) reached a ceasefire agreement. As of the 13th, the current round of conflicts had killed 33 Palestinians and injured more than 140.
However, sporadic exchanges of fire still occurred between the two sides before and after the ceasefire agreement took effect.
Half an hour before the ceasefire agreement came into effect, around 21:30 local time on the 13th, the alarm was sounded in many places in southern and central Israel. A rocket that triggered alarms in the central Israeli cities of Rishon Le Zion and Holon was confirmed to have been intercepted by the Israeli military’s Iron Dome defense system.
Subsequently, the IDF stated that “after the latest rocket launch from the Gaza Strip into Israel, Israeli forces struck three underground rocket sites of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Jihad) in the Gaza Strip.”
Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip expressed hope for a real ceasefire.
