Sporting Cristal lost 2-1 against César Vallejo at the Mansiche Stadium in Trujillo on date 13 of the 2024 Liga 1 Apertura Tournament. With this result, the ‘celestials’ will sleep in second place in the standings of the national competition: they were two points behind the University of Sports leader.
Santiago González (03′) opened the scoring for the visitors, but then Jairo Vélez (20′ and 44′) scored a double and gave the victory to Guillermo Salas’ team. In one of the strong incidents, Yoshimar Yotún was injured and taken by ambulance to a local clinic. This situation generated concern for Paolo Guerrero (he only played the first half).
Sporting Cristal’s next rival will be Alianza Atlético, on Sunday, May 5, from 11:00 local time. César Vallejo, for his part, will visit Cienciano in Cusco, also on the same date, but at 6:00 p.m.
