Sports narrator Marco Antônio Pereira died in the early hours of Sunday, 17th, at the age of 67. He had suffered a heart attack at the beginning of the month, when he needed to undergo catheterization. Recovered, he was discharged from hospital about a week ago. The cause of death was not disclosed by the family. He leaves three children and three grandchildren.

Marcão’s wake, as he was known, will take place this Monday, 18th, until 4pm at the Crematorium and Ecumenical Cemetery Cristo Rei, in São Leopoldo, where his burial will also take place.

The narrator had more than four decades of professional experience. As a presenter and announcer, he worked on radio stations Progresso, Gaúcha, Guaíba, Bandeirantes and Gre-Nal. Currently the narrator was on journalist Alex Bagé’s channel and on Rádio Mais Independência in São Leopoldo. For more than four decades he worked in the Gaucho sports breaking latest news.
