STELLANTIS Carlos Tavares argues with the Government over the delay in incentives and more – Companies

In the aftermath of Carlos Tavares’ visit to the Atessa plant to celebrate the excellent results of Stellantis, the controversy that was triggered between the Government and the manager takes center stage.

“We have more than 40 thousand employees in Italy who work very hard to adapt the company to the new reality as decided by politicians and who are full of talent. I don’t think the Italian employees appreciated these comments. I don’t think it’s fair towards them”, declared Tavares in response to the statements of Giorgia Meloni who, criticized by Repubblica for the decision to privatize some Italian giants, attacked the Agnelli family on the relocation of Fiat.

“We have asked the government to support us in the production of electric vehicles. We want to reach the milestone of one million vehicles produced, but we must have support for production”, added Carlos Tavares. “For nine months we have been asking for support for the sale of vehicles. I would like to thank the government which will launch incentives in February, but we have lost nine months and many volumes.

If we had had the incentives immediately, Mirafiori could have produced more. Italy spends much less than other European countries to support electric vehicles and the consequence is that we lose volumes and production, just when the government wants to reach 1 million vehicles produced in the country”.
