Also in the month of May the scientific-cultural schedule of STEP FuturAbility District (Piazza Adriano Olivetti 1), the innovative space for connection with the future in which everyone can better understand the ongoing digital revolution and how to become protagonists, is enriched with new appointments with exceptional speakers.

The workshop entitled “Mixed Reality and Spatial Computing: the new digital frontier” will be held on Tuesday 7 May from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. During the event, the new technologies of Mixed Reality and Spatial Computing and their practical applications will be explored in depth through discussions and live demos, presented by speakers from the VR/AR Association of the Italian chapter. They will be present Lorenzo Montagna, Founder of Seconda-Stella (first Strategic Advisory company for Augmented, Virtual and Metaverse Reality) and President in Italy of “VR AR Association” (first global association in the field of immersive technologies), Donato De Ieso Co-Founder & CEO of Lium srl who held the role of university lecturer and tutor for several years at UNIMI – Department of Computer Science – IT Security Systems and Antonio SqueoChief Partnership Officer of Hevolus, creative by nature and trained as a manager at the SDA Bocconi Management School in Milan.

Tuesday 14 May from 6.30pm to 8.00pm STEP will host the workshop “Can Artificial Intelligence threaten democracy?” in which we will discuss deep fakes and disinformation and the risks of AI for democracy and for voting in a context in which laws regulating AI exist in Europe but anarchy reigns in the rest of the world. Gabriele Di Matteo will be present, a lifelong journalist who has made the digital revolution and the relationship between people and new technologies the underlying theme of his activities and Eugenio Zuccarelli, expert in Artificial Intelligence and Data science and collaborator for the “Corriere della Sera”, “Forbes”, “Fortune”, “Harvard Business Review”, “MIT Technology Review” and “Wired”.

The workshop entitled “Intelligent and sustainable cars are (almost) reality” will be held on Wednesday 22 May from 6.30pm to 8pm, in which we will discuss how the concept of cars and mobility will change in the next 10 years. Boston Consulting Group has outlined the trends that will reshape the sector and will present them to the STEP audience on May 22, with Federica Giuppi, BCG Project Leader in which she deals with Automotive & Mobility. The workshop will be an opportunity to discuss how the cars of the future will be connected and increasingly similar to computers, but also autonomous and sustainable.

The event is in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Knowledge Partner of STEP.
