Writer and poet Roseana Murray, 73 years old, remains hospitalized at the Alberto Torres State Hospital, in SĆ£o GonƧalo, Rio de Janeiro. On April 5, she was attacked by three pitbull dogs while walking near her home, in Saquarema, in the Lagos region.
In a statement, the hospital management reported that the patient is lucid, talking and eating normally. Despite the stable situation and good evolution, there is still no forecast for an increase.
Due to the bites, Roseana had to have her right arm amputated and suffered injuries to her face and left arm.
This Sunday (14), on a social network, the writer from Rio wrote that āeven in the worst scenarios you have to look for beautyā. She also said that she is already planning a poetry soiree at the hospital and that she will give a book to each person who took care of her.
Learning to write poems with your left hand is part of your recovery plans.
Author of more than 100 childrenās books, Roseana Murray has been writing to young readers since 1980. In 2002, she received the Brazilian Academy of Letters Award for Childrenās Literature for the book āJardinsā.
The poet also holds the literary meeting āCafĆ©, Bread and Textā, when she opens the doors of her home in Saquarema, to students from public schools in the city.
In a statement, the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro reported that the dogsā owners were arrested for mistreatment, but were released and remain free. They will be liable for the crime of failing to take care of the animals and for causing bodily harm.
