Marco Zennaro, the Italian entrepreneur who has been detained in Khartoum, Sudan, for more than two months has been transferred to a prison that has better conditions. Informed local sources report this to InfoAfrica, explaining that Zennaro left the prison where he had been previously detained for a detention facility in Omdurman, one of the three cities that make up Khartoum, on Wednesday. The developments follow the visit to Khartoum two days ago by Luigi Vignali, director general at the Farnesina for Italians abroad and migration policies.
Zennaro, in prison for a commercial dispute still to be clarified, was in a cell that he shared with several other inmates in conditions that are also affected at this time by the high seasonal temperatures with highs reaching 45 degrees.
