Switzerland wins the competition with Nemo, Slimane in fourth place for France

The Eurovision 2024 final saw the victory of Nemo, representing Switzerland, this Saturday May 11 in Malmö. Slimane, who defended the colors of France, finished in fourth place.

At the end of a particularly eventful edition due to the controversy surrounding Israel’s participation, it was Switzerland which won the Eurovision final this Saturday, May 11 in Malmö. The singer Nemo won this 2024 edition with the song The Code. France, represented by Slimane and his title Mon Amour, finished in 4th place in the ranking.

This victory for Nemo, obtained with 591 points, votes from the juries and the public combined, is not a surprise. Before this grand final, he was among the bookmakers’ favorites. Slimane’s final ranking is not unexpected either since in recent days he has been in the top 5 of artists favored by punters.

Croatia and Ukraine complete the podium

After the exclusion earlier in the day of Joost Klein, the representative of the Netherlands, 25 countries were competing for the final of this 68th edition of the competition. Croatia, with singer Baby Lasagna, came in second place and Ukraine finished in last place on the podium.

Nemo succeeds the Swedish Loreen, who won last year with the song Tattoo. As tradition dictates, it will therefore be up to Switzerland to host the next edition of the competition.
