The film ‘The Book of Eli’ is back on Trans TV Cinema. This fantasy action genre film will be broadcast on Friday (29/3/2024), precisely at 21.45 WIB.
Released in 2010, ‘The Book of Eli’ is the work of brother-sister duo Allen and Albert Hughes. Their previous works as directors include ‘Menace II Society’ (1993), ‘Dead Presidents’ (1995), and ‘From Hell’ (2001).
‘The Book of Eli’ features Denzel Washington as the main star. Also appearing are Mila Kunis and Gary Oldman.

Costing US$ 80 million to produce, this apocalyptic themed film managed to gross US$ 157 million. In terms of ratings, ‘The Book of Eli’ is rated 6.8/10 stars.
Synopsis The Book of Eli
Reporting from CNN Indonesia, ‘The Book of Eli’ tells the story of the situation around 30 years after the nuclear disaster. Eli (Denzel Washington) then travels on foot across the desert of the former United States.
He made the trip wearing sunglasses and tattered clothes. However, Eli was able to survive and fight extraordinary.
One day, he arrived at a dilapidated town looking for water. The city is actually ruled by a commander named Carnegie (Gary Oldman) who is trying to control people through a book.

There, Eli stopped by a town bar but was attacked by a group of motorbike riders. Eli was able to defeat them with his fighting skills.
Eli’s fighting actions impressed Carneige and he was invited to join the group. However, Carneige’s offer was rejected. This made the commander ask someone to keep an eye on Eli.
Eli also offered to stay one night before going their separate ways. At that time, Eli also met Solara (Mila Kunis), Carneige’s daughter
That moment made Solara see that Eli had a book. The next morning, Eli sneaks away but is blocked by Carneige and his men. Carneige even ordered Eli to be killed because he refused to give him his book.
Solara had caught up with Eli and brought him to town with a water supply, hoping to accompany him. However, Eli traps him and continues the journey alone.
Solara escapes but is ambushed by two bandits who try to rape her, but Eli reappears and kills them. Eli finally explains his mission regarding the book that Carneige is after.
