Quoting the official website of the Indonesian Film Censorship Institute, the synopsis for the film The Architecture of Love begins with best-selling author Raia Risjad (Putri Marino) who decided to go to New York after experiencing writer’s block. What she experienced made her lose inspiration to write due to the divorce she experienced after discovering that her husband, Alam (Arifin Putra) was having an affair.
While in New York, Raia meets Erin (Jihane Almira) who helps her revive her lost enthusiasm and inspiration. Erin was also the one who brought Raia together with Aga (Jerome Kurnia).
Through Aga, Raia’s life destiny leads her to meet River (Nicholas Saputra), a quiet architect. Quoting the official website of the Amir Machmud Library of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it turns out that River himself has been living in New York for a year with the aim of leaving Jakarta a year ago.
