Trans TV Cinema tonight, Sunday (24/3), will show The Taking of Pelham 123 at 21.45 WIB. The following is a synopsis of The Taking of Pelham 123 starring Denzel Washington, John Travolta and John Turturro.
This third film, adapted from John Godey’s novel with the same title, tells the story of a train operator played by Denzel Washington who acts as a negotiator when a subway train is hijacked.

It all started when a gang of armed robbers hijacked a New York City subway train. Amid the chaos, they take passengers hostage on a speeding train – and demand a huge ransom.
Ryder (John Travolta), the ringleader, demands a ransom of US$10 million in cash and threatens to kill the hostage if the money is not given within 60 minutes.
The murder could not be avoided when the gang was negotiating with Walter Garber (Denzel Washington), an employee of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The tough negotiations were taken over by Lieutenant Camonetti (John Turturro) from the New York Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit.
However, negotiations were still unsuccessful. Armed with his knowledge of train tracks, Garber devises a plan to trap Ryder.
The tense situation is increasingly surrounding the hostages because the killings continue to occur.
The Taking of Pelham 123 is the work of director Tony Scott and written by Brian Helgeland. This film premiered in 2009.
