The FAZ calls the game, which Dortmund ultimately lost 2-3 at home against Hoffenheim, a “relapse into chaos”.
For the WAZ, Borussia Dortmund is sliding into a crisis with this game and this result. This defeat is a “massive setback”.
BVB coach Terzic has to worry about his job
The “Ruhr Nachrichten” even reports that discontent is growing in Dortmund. Accordingly, head coach Edin Terzic is no longer firmly in the saddle. Above all, those responsible are not convinced by the team’s performance. The BVB engine sputters, especially on offense.
The accusation is that the team relies too often on individual actions. The BVB bosses recently defended Terzic. But one thing is also clear: the 41-year-old’s contract only runs until 2025. Those responsible in Dortmund will inevitably have to deal with the question in the summer of whether and how things will continue with Terzic.

Back to the defeat against Hoffenheim: While the half-time lead was “deserved” for BVB, Dortmund’s game was then “completely unhinged,” writes the “Süddeutsche”. “At half time there was still a pretty conciliatory mood in the stadium given Dortmund’s 2-1 lead,” but after falling behind again “it was seething, the Dortmund crowd was foaming at the mouth, some were already whistling.”
The fact that Dortmund then ran “blindly” didn’t help turn the game around. Because they were “not at all involved at times,” they ultimately lost this “rollercoaster game.”
