The US military carried out a unilateral attack in Baghdad that killed the commander of Kataib Hezbollah, which they claim is behind militant attacks on US forces throughout the Middle East, the US Central Command announced.

CENTKOM specified that the slain commander of “Kataib Hezbollah” was responsible for “direct planning and participation in attacks on American forces in the region.”

The statement notes that “there are no indications of collateral damage or civilian casualties at this time.”
CENTKOM states that the strike in Baghdad was carried out “as a response to the attacks to members of the US military”.
