NEW YORK – New boom of infections in the United States: where for the first time since last February 9 – when, that is, the population had just started getting vaccinated – there were more than 100 thousand daily infections. Here yesterday the positives were 107,143: and even if we are still far (but not too much) from the 255 thousand of last January 9, it is a very sad reminder of how rapid and infectious the Delta variant is, given that only on June 20 the national cases they had dropped to just 5,197.
