The EPP splits in Strasbourg, skips the blitz against the Green deal

BERLIN — The sensational attempt by European moderates to reject the “Law for the restoration of nature” – a pillar of the Green Deal – has failed. The operation concocted by the head of the European People’s Party, Manfred Weber, to impose a new anti-green course and seduce the far right, ended up against a wall. First of all because “his” EPP split and the law passed to the European Parliament with 336 votes in favour, 300 against and 13 abstentions.
