The Israeli army killed a senior Hezbollah commander in Lebanon

An airstrike in Lebanon carried out by the Israeli military has resulted in the elimination of a top commander of a Hezbollah missile unit. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Kounine area of Lebanon, where Ismail Ali al-Zin was located. Al-Zin was identified as a key figure in Hezbollah’s Anti-Tank Missile Unit of the Radwan Forces.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), al-Zin was considered a major source of knowledge regarding anti-tank missiles and was responsible for numerous attacks targeting civilians, communities, and Israeli security forces. This latest operation comes just days after Israel took down the deputy chief of Hezbollah’s rocket unit in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah, known for its substantial arsenal of rockets and missiles, has been engaged in frequent exchanges of fire with the Israeli military following an attack by its ally, Hamas, on southern Israel in October. The ongoing hostilities have sparked concerns of a potential full-scale conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, recalling the devastating war between the two parties in 2006.

Reports from Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) indicate that the airstrike targeted a car in Bazuriyeh in the southern district of Tyre, resulting in the death of at least one individual identified as Ali Abdel Hassan Naim. Naim was allegedly involved in the launching of rockets with heavy warheads and had a role in planning attacks against Israeli civilians.

The situation is still developing, as tensions continue to escalate in the region.
