The confusion of the BBC journalist who is about to start the live connection from Union Square in Kansas City where the Chiefs’ parade for the victory in the Super Bowl. The reporter is incredulous upon hearing some shots behind him and shouts “Guys, something is happening”: it is the ambush of two men who opened fire on the crowd.
At least 15 injured, one spectator died. According to the “Voice of New York”, “a few minutes after the end of the parade several shots were heard which sowed panic among the crowd. A general stampede began, hindered by the metal barriers installed to protect the procession. People ran away screaming and seeking shelter in side streets or throwing themselves to the ground.”
