The Navarra International Documentary Film Festival Point of view celebrates its 2024 edition in Iruña-Pamplona from March 11 to 16.
For six days, Point of view becomes the epicenter of the international documentary audiovisual community, with film screenings, meetings with filmmakers, round tables, documentary film sessions for families or the Official Section, meeting in different spaces of the city, but concentrating most of the program in Baluarte.
This year the festival is organized into six sections: the “Official Section”, which includes a total of twenty-three films from fifteen different countries; the “Focos”, monographic sessions through which Punto de Vista focuses its gaze on filmmakers from the international scene—Su Friedrich (USA) and Joël Akafou (Ivory Coast)—in addition to the cycle programmed by Miriam Martín that investigates the place of trees in documentary film; the “Mediation Program”, which continues to open the festival to audiences throughout the city, especially the youngest; “Lan” (“Work” in Basque), which generates spaces for reflection on creation and production in documentary film; “Contacts”, which aims to connect it with other disciplines and stars Jerome Hiler and Néstor Basterretxea; and the “X Films” project, which on this occasion proposes Celia Viada Caso as a filmmaker to shoot a film in Navarra and premieres “Tránsitos”, Anna López Luna’s personal vision of the Sanfermines filmed in Super 8.
Like every year, in parallel, the festival dedicates a space to music, growing in prominence in this edition. At Punto de Vista Nights, the public will be able to enjoy the talent of different Navarrese artists who will perform at the Txintxarri Bar: artists such as DJ Rizos, Mon DVY, Lady, Modern DJ, Gap and its resident DJ. On the other hand, the usual Radio 3 programs that take place during the festival will alternate interviews with Isabel Ruiz Lara with performances by Peru Galbete y Usage. The closing ceremony on the 16th, in addition to the awards gala and the screening of the film Horses and Guitars by Pedro G. Romero, will feature a guitar and singing concert by the Sevillian artist Maria Marin.
