The terrorist group Hezbollah claimed nine attacks against Israel from Lebanon in another day of violence on the border

Smoke rises in northern Israel, near the border with Lebanon. Lebanon’s terrorist group Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for nine attacks against military positions in northern Israel. These attacks are part of a new wave of violence along the border, which has been escalating as a result of the war in the Gaza Strip.

The Shiite movement, backed by the Iranian regime, stated that they launched missiles and “appropriate weapons” against several “gatherings of Israeli soldiers” located near the border between Lebanon and Israel. According to Hezbollah, these attacks have resulted in casualties. They also claimed to have targeted a building where Israeli soldiers were stationed, as well as other positions in the disputed Chebaa Farms, using high-caliber ‘Burkan’-type projectiles capable of carrying warheads of up to half a ton.

Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in intense crossfire across their common border since October 8, one day after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip. The escalation of violence marks the worst outbreak since the war fought between the two sides in 2006.

The United Nations reports that the recent violence has forced nearly 90,000 people to leave their homes in southern Lebanon, while another 60,000 continue to live in areas bordering Israel that have been severely impacted by the exchange of fire. Dozens of civilians have lost their lives so far, and Lebanon has described Israeli bombings as a “war crime.”

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced the defeat of Hamas’s important Khan Younis brigade after two and a half months of fierce fighting. According to Gallant, after the defeat of the brigade led by Yahya Sinwar, Hamas only has “marginal forces” left in the refugee camps in the Gaza Strip.

He promised to defeat the remaining battalions, stating that there is no one who can come to their aid, neither the Iranians nor international agencies, while the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has announced plans to extend the ground offensive in Gaza.
