Satisfaction from the Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson: “Today we are one step closer to becoming full members of NATO. It is positive that the Grand General Assembly of Turkey voted in favor of Sweden joining the Atlantic Alliance.” Last month, the Turkish Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs had already given its consent to Sweden’s candidacy in the first stage of the legislative process, after the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan had sent the accession protocol to the legislators for approval.
