More than 80 thousand visitors are expected at the Fair, which takes place from May 2 to 5 in Plaza Mayor
From this Thursday, May 2, to this Sunday, May 5, Medellín will have a hotel occupancy of 83% and it is expected to have a million-dollar economic benefit of more than 13 million dollars from the holding of the Two Wheels Fair.
This event will receive at least 80 thousand visitors in the Plaza Mayor pavilions, will generate more than 6 thousand direct and indirect jobs and is designed for motorcycle lovers and those who work in this industry, who are expected to close businesses for more than 60 million dollars.
There will be at least 450 exhibitors from 34 countries, according to Guillermo Pajón, director of the Fair, who provided other details of what will be seen there.
“The fair presents a great offer in academic events, user experience, sporting and cultural events; connecting the entire industry in one place. The Two Wheels Fair puts Medellín and Colombia in the international context as an important reference for this industry, generating a great socioeconomic contribution for the region and the country,” he stated.

This year the fair is expanded with the installation of two new pavilions: the Purple Pavilion, located next to the Wooden Box, and the Medellín Pavilion, in front of the Metropolitan Theater. There will also be activities in the executive rooms and show-room type spaces in the Great Hall.
In addition, there will be an innovation route, business, commercial and sporting events. A key point will be the pedagogical component, through the “Speed is not a game” campaign, with which the fair aims to “promote education, prevention and awareness among all road actors, with a special focus on motorcyclists, about the risk associated with excessive speed.”
According to data provided by the ANDI and Fenalco Motorcycle Industry Chamber, “during March 2024, 57,785 new motorcycles were registered in Colombia, which represents a contraction of 11% compared to the same month in 2023. Despite Despite this decrease, the sector continues to be an important driver of the Colombian economy, representing more than 61% of the country’s vehicle fleet. It is notable that women today represent 29.4% of motorcycle purchases.”
Cundinamarca, Antioquia and Valle del Cauca are the departments in which the largest number of motorcycles are registered, representing 46% of the national total.
