The United Kingdom announced an investment of more than $310 million in artillery ammunition for Ukraine, as part of ongoing support for the Ukrainian Army’s war effort against Russian invaders. The investment, totaling £245 million, will be used to acquire and revitalize supply chains to produce artillery munitions that Ukraine urgently needs. This announcement coincides with the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Defense Minister Grant Shapps emphasized the importance of artillery in Ukraine’s successes on the battlefield and reiterated the UK’s commitment to supporting Ukraine in its fight for victory. In addition to the investment in artillery ammunition, the Royal Air Force will deliver advanced anti-tank missiles to Ukraine.

The British Ministry of Defense also announced new contracts to provide spare tracks for tanks and armored vehicles, allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to repair and restore damaged vehicles. These contracts will be funded by the UK and the International Fund for Ukraine.

The Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary, and Defense Secretary have pledged to continue military support for Ukraine, with the UK’s military aid budget for the fiscal year 2024/25 increasing to £2.5 billion. The Chief of the Defense Staff, Admiral Tony Radakin, stressed the importance of unity and international solidarity in defeating Russia in the conflict.

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron warned Russian President Vladimir Putin against counting on European fatigue in the war against Ukraine. Macron reaffirmed France’s unwavering support for Ukraine and emphasized the decisive impact of the conflict on European interests, values, and security.
