“Tonight, we will be on the field with our fellow citizens, monitoring the situation and if there are additional problems, we will certainly act,” Javor told reporters in Prijedor.

He stated that today the headquarters made conclusions for further action after heavy rainfall yesterday during the day and night.

“I have to emphasize that we spent the night on the field, working, that the teams are still on the field and what is very important – at the moment we do not have residential buildings where the water came in,” pointed out Javor.

He recalled that at the beginning of the year, bushes and low vegetation were cleared in the riverbed of Milosevica, and garbage was taken out, assessing that this certainly produced results.

“I must emphasize that the same amount of water fell at the end of last year as it does these days and that we had a lot of flooded buildings then. So, the result was that we carried out this cleaning and clearing of low vegetation in the area of Vrbic and Topolik and for now the situation is under control,” Javor added.

The water level of Sana is currently 432 centimeters, and the first level of protection is declared at 420 centimeters.
