The identity of the two attackers was not disclosed: Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that they were a man and a woman who were part of the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Front (DHKP/C), an extreme group left considered a terrorist organization by the Turkish government, the United States and the European Union, and made public their initials: EY and PB.
Turkish police said that another person was also involved in the attack, who was captured immediately after the shooting. The court is also known as Mehmet Selim Kiraz Compound, and is named after prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz, who was killed in 2015 by members of the DHKP/C.
