A 49-year-old man, whose identity was not revealed, was attacked by a pit bull during an attempted robbery this Wednesday (21/02) at a farm located on Rua dos Miosótis, in the Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, in the city of Uberaba, in Minas Gerais.

According to the police, upon arriving at the scene the owner noticed signs of a break-in in the house. As she headed to the backyard, she came across the robber fell to the ground, being attacked by the large dog responsible for the security of the place.

The property owner was unable to remove the animal from the individual and requested the intervention of the Military Police to deal with the situation. The police, together with the owner, managed to get the dog away from the suspect.

The criminal was taken to a hospital in serious condition, suffering injuries to his legs, shins and ankles, as well as lacerations to his left hand, forearm and right chest. An accomplice of the individual also involved in the crime fled the scene upon noticing the animal’s aggression and was not located. The case will be investigated by the Civil Police.
