The Seven Marine FC Football Team from the VII Kupang Base Defense Marine Battalion (Yonmarhanlan), secured the final place in the last 8 of the 2024 Danlanud El Tari Cup II Mini Soccer Tournament through a 6 – 5 (0 – 0) penalty shootout against the Gazzelo FC Team in El Tari Penfui Air Base Complex Football Field, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara, Tuesday (16/04/2024).

In the match which was held in the evening local time, the Seven Marine FC Team immediately took the initiative to attack but their efforts repeatedly failed to produce a goal until after the first half the score remained 0 – 0 in the second half, the Seven Marine team coached by First Lieutenant Aris Hidayanto was still unable to breaking the deadlock until the referee blew the long whistle, the score remained unchanged at 0 – 0, the match continued to a penalty shootout, Seven Marine FC’s 6 kickers were able to carry out their duties well while the Gazzelo FC team, which was strengthened by players from Timor Leste, only 5 players were able to break into the goal. Seven Marine and one kicker were thwarted by Seven Marine FC goalkeeper Letda Laut (KH) Atfin Adi Utama K.

Danyonmarhanlan VII Kupang Marine Lt. Col. Hariadi Akmur M., Tr., Opsla, who was also present to watch the match, expressed his sense of pride and gratitude for the results achieved by the Seven Marine FC Team, even though they had to go through a penalty shootout, “a penalty shootout is not something easy, “It requires a strong mentality and high self-confidence that every Seven Marine FC player must have.
